Naltar Valley is about 34 kilometers from Gilgit city and the drive to the valley takes around 2 to 2.5 hours from Gilgit. While from Hunza, the ride would take 3 to 3.5 hours. Skardu is a bit far from the valley (6 hours drive). This premium highland destination is accessible only through a jeep or 4*4 wheeler vehicle from Karakoram Highway.

Firoza Lake

Firoza Lake is an excellent destination for nature enthusiasts, photographers, and those seeking tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of city life. This lake is also in Upper Naltar areas and accessible with a jeep ride or 3-4 hours of trekking.

The lake is located at a higher altitude as compared to Satrangi lake and also more remote. The lake is surrounded by towering grey mountains and lush emerald meadows. Due to its remote and undiscovered location, a sense of profound stillness, serenity and peace can be felt.

Pari Lake

The Lake is known for its dark turquoise and greenish blue water, which contrast strikingly with the surrounding grey rocky landscape. This lake is also situated in Upper Naltar and accessible through jeep or trek. The trek to the lake is usually closed during winter due to heavy snowfall approximately 10 to 15 feet. The best time to visit the lake is from July to September. At first glance, the lake looks small and it is completely covered with rocks. But as we go closer, it’s quite a large lake behind a mound of rocks.
